Cambridge Advanced Class

Cambridge now has a number of successful Tang Soo Do Clubs, which are part of the Great Britain Tang Soo Do Association, and the World Tang Soo Do Association. In order to promote Tang Soo Do in the Cambridge area, an advanced class is available to all brown belt and above Tang Soo Do students from clubs in the area. Classes will be taught by Masters M. & L. Allen.

The classes take place from 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. on Sundays at NCA Sports Centre behind North Cambridge Academy, Arbury Road, Cambridge. For a list of class dates please see our Events page. (map).

The class will cover all aspects of weapons used in Tang Soo Do, all hyungs and self defence techniques from the Tang Soo Do syllabus, plus a variety of additional techniques related to knife, staff, and walking stick defences. It will be our objective to provide an insight into weapons and techniques used by other martial art styles, and to prepare students for their future in Tang Soo Do, with a particular emphasis on Cho Dan Bo students progressing towards their Cho Dan testing.

Classes only run fortnightly so please see the list of dates to be sure there is a class. The classes will try to cover all aspects of Tang Soo Do and also some weapons from other martial arts. We also focus training on the Dan & Gup Testing requiremenst just before a Grading, which may be useful to students from other clubs as well as the ones in the Cambridge Area. We recommend that all eligible grades make an effort to attend this class, and benefit from the wealth of knowledge which can be passed on to them by our senior grades. This class is open to members of other clubs in the area ranked brown belt and above, should they wish to attend. Clubs that currently attend are Cambridge & Impington, Cherryhinton, Ely, Witchford, and Chatteris.
